Largo Porta Vecchia is called after the door of entrance into the town, which in old times existed along the walls. The stretch of walls preserved until today,  reaches out towards the sea, thus making this place one of the most picturesque and photographed places on this territory.

Framed by the whitewashed little houses of the old village, this site boasts a sandy beach, wet by crystal clear water, crowded by the local people and by now frequented by a lot of tourists staying in the many b&bs of the old centre. From here you can start your walk along the imposing sixteenth century walls of via Papacenere, a few steps far away from the open air artillery Museum.
