The Nicolaian Museum in Bari, inaugurated on February 6th 2010, houses the historical art treasures linked to the Basilica of St.Nicholas, spiritual heart of the city.

In its rooms the century old history of the Basilica, uninterrupted destination of pilgrimages from all over the world, is told. There are remains linked to the beloved Saint and to the historical-art events of the city, occurred over the centuries, since the Byzantine Age.
In the three exhibition rooms you can admire precious objects of any kind: sacred paintings and vestments, epigraphs, parchments and illuminated codices coming from the Archive of the Basilica and also precious objects offered by popes, pilgrims and bishops, such as enamel decorations, coats of arms, reliquaries, goblets and silverware coming from the Treasure.
