In the middle of the island of Paxos, hidden in the olive groves between Gaios and Lakka, there is the village of Magazia, which is called after the shops concentrated there in this area. Today this little village is a place where time seems to have stopped, where the visitor will be able to rediscover the most authentic Greece. In the village visitors can visit the Museum of the Olive tree, situated just outside Magazia and housed in an old stone oil mill dating back to the 18th century. In the museum visitors can learn abut the secrets of the olive, they can know the traditional production process of oil, as well as the cultural history of Paxos. Excursionists, instead, will have the opportunity to discover the pathways through the olive groves leading to the beautiful church of the Saint Apostles, to the western cliffs and the famous cliffs of Eremitis with its famous splendid sunset.
