The Museum exhibits in the rooms situated in Piazza Duomo and in the church of St.Therese, works and artefacts, a heritage of the oldest diocesis in Salento. Besides paintings and sacred objects dating from different ages, the urn used in the 13th century for the transportation of the relics of St.Theodorus from Amasea, protector of the town, is housed in the Museum. The Ark made from embossed silver is interesting for its in relief decorations. It is supposed that  the arrival of the relics took place at the same time of the wedding between Fredrick II and Isabella of Brienne in 1225. The bones of the saint came to Brindisi closed in this urn, wrapped in a precious fabric of silk and gold, which is also preserved in this museum.
